Library Mission Statement

The mission of the Montebello High School Library is to help students in their studies by providing access to current, adequate, and appropriate information resources. It is also our goal that all students, teachers, and staff become effective users of ideas and information to further the goal of meeting established academic standards and to become independent

 

 

Loan Periods and Check Out Policies
Students may check out up to 3 items. Most items circulate for 30 days
with three renewals unless the book is on reserve. Staff may check out books for 30 days
and videos for 5 days.

Students must have their current I.D. cards to check out library materials or use the computers in the library.

Library Fines
Overdue books: 10 cents per day, capping at $2.00.

Photocopier
10 cents per page

Library Computers
The Library currently has 36
computers with Internet access and Microsoft Office. Students must have a current MHS school I.D. with picture to use these computers.

Printing is available.
B/W $.10 a copy
Color $.25 a copy.

For Teachers

Classes in the Library
Teachers should contact the Library to reserve appointments as soon as possible. If you would like the Librarian to do an orientation/presentation, one week's notice is required.

If the teacher is absent, the class visit is automatically cancelled. Exceptions to this must be arranged with the Librarian prior to the absence.

 

The Library has the following equipment available for staff checkout:

LCD media cart with laptop computer,

(Remove) digital cameras

(Remove) 35mm camera

Digital reader

Video camera,

Overhead projector

DVD/VCR players

CD/Cassette players.

Multi-media cart with LCD projector and laptop

LCD Projectors

Laptop computers

Only MHS staff is allowed to check out equipment. If a student requests to use this equipment for a class presentation, their teacher must be the one to make arrangements with the Library beforehand.
